I am a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the School of Public Administration at the University of New Mexico. I primarily teach in the Master of Health Administration Program. I received my PhD in Business Administration from Carlson School of Management and MS in Statistics from School of Statistics at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. I obtained my BS in Industrial Engineering from Tsinghua University.
My research interests lie at the intersection of healthcare service delivery, information technologies (IT), and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). My recent research - situated in the context of mental (behavioral) healthcare operations - investigates whether and under what conditions emerging health IT (e.g., mobile apps, chatbots, telehealth) can be leveraged to deliver effective and equitable mental health services, especially to the underserved population. I am also investigating DEI-related issues in broader contexts such as U.S. federal government procurement.
My research is recognized by several research grants and awards including University of Minnesota Leadership in Equity, Inclusion and Diversity Fellowship, Cisco Research Grant, and the finalist of 2023 POMS College of Service Operations Management Best Student Paper. My research has been published in Production and Operations Management.
On the personal side, I am happily married to Ms. Tianni Guo who recently won the 2023 National Dual Language Teacher of the Year. We have a lovely (yet a little cranky) cat, Nova. I am a classical clarinetist and band conductor. I love playing table tennis and riding road bikes.
